Creating results is a full time occupation. As business owners and team leaders the responsibility for training of new associates and distributors rest squarely on our shoulders.
Proper training is the key to success so is honesty. Many times new associates and distributors are not taught the basic fundamentals necessary to become Network Marketing victors instead of casualties.
For those of us who have effectively built thriving sales organizations, we know what kind of commitment and energy it took to create. Producing results on an ongoing basis isnt an accident. It is however, a major life-changing event.
When I say life changing I mean in every way. A change must occur in the way we communicate, focus, lead, think and act. Assisting new marketers to be willing and grateful to embrace change should be priority number one. Old habits must be replaced with new, more effective ones. Gone are the days of clock watching and waiting for the chimes to ring quitting time at five p.m.
I meet so many inexperienced marketers who think that they can continue with their old employee mentality and habits now that theyre in the free enterprise arena. Halfhearted effort is put in along with halfhearted goals and visions. Its frightening to witness the path of self-destruction these people are embarking on through no fault of their own. No one has taught them to do anything different and unless they had entrepreneur parents or friends growing up, they dont even realize the difference from employee versus a self-employed mindset.
The responsibility for education falls into the hands of company owners and business leaders. This kind of short-term thinking is certainly not beneficial to our new marketer or to the company intending to stay in business beyond a few years.
Why not be honest with people up front about the realities of being a successful entrepreneur? I realize that some may argue this point and say that fewer people would enroll if they understood the discipline and potential learning curve theyre facing. Granted, fewer may enroll but I also think wed see a substantial decrease in casualties along the way. After all, the people who make the commitment to enroll and get going would be educated and more prepared going into the situation. Id prefer to see people educated and primed versus people who are misinformed or uninformed about their new endeavor.
Its challenging for me to believe and you may be surprised as well, there are large companies in our industry still training their distributors to find new recruits by running ads in the help wanted section of national and local newspapers. Hello! Am I the only one who finds this practice to be misleading and a threat to the en...
